The
Refund Plugin
From june 2026 online stores are required to provide consumers with a clearly visible and easily accessible cancellation or return button This obligation is intended to make the right of withdrawal accessible and user-friendly for consumers.
The cancellation option must:
Be clearly visible (not hidden in terms and conditions or deep in menus),
Be easy to find from logical places, such as the account, order overview or the customer service page,
And enable customers to ,without unnecessary steps, cancel an order or register a return.
The goal for a consumer is he can cancel as easily as ordering, without any obstacles, deception, or additional hurdles. Websites that don't clearly offer this option risk non-compliance with consumer protection regulations.
Practical example: where do you place the cancel/return button?
In order to comply with the obligation from june 2026, place the cancel or return button on at least one, but preferably several logical places on your website.
1. In the customer account (recommended main location)
Path:My Account → Orders → View Order
👉 Directly next to or below the order details place a button like:
🔁 Cancel order / register return
Why this is good:
Customers expect action buttons here
No searching required
Legally the safest
2. On the order confirmation page
After completing the order (thank you page):
Still not satisfied? You can easily cancel or return your order.
➡️ [Cancel Order]
Why this works:
Transparent
Immediately visible
Lowers thresholds (as the law intends)
3. On the customer service page
Path:Customer Service / Returns
At the top of the page (not just as a text link):
🔘 Cancel or return your order
❌ Not allowed:
Just a PDF form
Only explanation without button
By email only
4. In the footer (optional, but smart)
Post a fixed link in the footer:
Cancellation & Returns
➡️ Links to a page where the button is directly visible.
What should the button look like?
✔ Clear button (not hidden as a text link)
✔ Regular size and contrasting color
✔ Clear text (no legal jargon)
Good texts:
"Cancel order"
“Register return”
“Cancel purchase”
Bad texts:
"Submit a request"
“Contact Us”
"Download form"
Rule of thumb (very important)
If a customer has to search, click, or email to cancel → non-compliant.
The cancellation option must be as easy to find as the order button.
What does that cost?

The plugin comes with a license key. We'll set it up manually for you, ideally as quickly as possible. However, if you order while we're enjoying a good night's sleep, it might take a while. Keep an eye on your (spam) inbox!
Question & Answer
1. Nothing more is needed. You can place the shortcode anywhere. If you have multiple websites, it's handy to be able to install the plugin on multiple websites (and choose option 5 or 10). So, if you have one license key, you can place the refund button only on that one website.
Yes, you can customize it to your liking. For example, you could change the text "Purchased Product" to "Order Number." All text, labels, and emails can be customized, including in any language.
Yes, that's possible. Virtually every part can be changed.
Yes, in the admin/backend you can see who requested a refund for what and whether the email sent has been confirmed.
You're entitled to a refund within 14 days of purchase. Naturally, your license key will then be blocked, and you'll no longer be able to use the plugin.
